Louise Lockhart (Illustrator)
Have you ever had a favorite mug? One that you fill with coffee or tea every morning. You hold its warmth between your hands as you read the latest headlines or check your email or stare out your window at absolutely nothing at all. Well, for me that mug is British artist Louise Lockhart’s Folk Life cup. Or, it would be if I actually owned it! Instead, I just look at it online and imagine it in my cupboard. Like all of Louise’s work, it’s utterly adorable!
I love the way Louise uses bold colors and whimsical patterns in so much of her work. Whether she’s designing a book cover, soap packaging, or an art print, her illustrations are always so inviting and eye-catching! Head over to her website or her Instagram page to see more of her fabulous designs. They’re sure to make you smile! Scroll down to see her inspirations. Thanks, Louise! ~Erin
Listen
I’m addicted to listening to Bill Bryson’s audiobooks on long car journeys. My husband and I loved The Thunderbolt Kid.
Read
I need to make more time to read. I usually binge on books when I go on holiday, but day to day I read smaller articles and magazines. I really enjoy The Guardian’s Experience every week, where ordinary people tell their extraordinary tales.
Watch
I absolutely love Julian Barratt and have recently enjoyed his latest film Mindhorn, which was hilarious. It’s probably very British, I think!
