Angela McKay’s paintings are what summer dreams are made of. Overgrown greenery looms large on the canvas, lovely bathing beauties float effortlessly in crystal blue waters, people ride bikes down quiet pathways while monkeys dart in and out of trees. Looking at her work, I’m completely transported to a beautiful tropical wonderland where I’m always surrounded by colorful plants and lots and lots of sunshine! Not only do I want to own Angela’s paintings, but I want to live in them as well!

Angela originally hails from Australia and Thailand and you can definitely see their influence in her paintings. If you would like to see more of her work, you can check out her website here. You can also see more of her paintings, and her process, on her Instagram page. Scroll down to read her inspirations. Thanks, Angela! ~Erin
Listen
I gotta say that Kendrick Lamar's album DAMN has been on pretty high rotation since it came out. I also can't stop listening to Childish Gambino's Awaken My Love.
Another guilty pleasure song of the minute is definitely "Portland" by Drake featuring Quavo and Travis Scott.
As for a podcast, I can't go past Story Club Podcast. A lot of the stories are from Aussie writers and comedians, so they are usually hilarious and they also make me feel closer to home.
Read
I just finished reading Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh. It was fantastic. It's the kind of novel that reels you in slowly until you're completely caught up in this girl's bizarre story. I was totally hooked.

Watch
I haven't finished watching the whole season, but I am really enjoying The Handmaids Tale on Hulu. Watching it can be quite confronting, as you're watching things in the show that have actually happened (and are happening) to women today and throughout history. It makes me angry but in a good way.
