Meghan Bogden Shimek (Fiber Artist)
As summer begins winding down, I find myself longing for the comfort of cool evenings and comfy blankets. It's a feeling of warmth and coziness that I get every autumn or whenever I look at the work of today's contributor, Oakland-based artist Meghan Bogden Shimek. To me, Meghan's wall hangings fully encapsulate the feeling of drinking warm tea on a cool fall evening. Her work is so soft and welcoming and filled with the sort of lush fullness that I find impossible to resist! I can only dream of how incredible it would be to have one of her large-scale pieces hanging on a wall. Looking at her work, even in a photograph, gives me such a sense of calmness. If everyone had one of Meghan's pieces hanging in their homes, we'd probably all save a lot on therapy! :)
Is it weird that I want to press my face into each and every one of Meghan's wall hangings?? They look so comfy! You can see more of Meghan's beautiful work on her website, right here. You can also follow her on Instagram, here. Scroll down to read all about her inspirations! Thanks, Meghan!
